Dear Friend of the Arts,

The Beaumont Interfaith Choral Society (BICS) would like to solicit your support for its 2012 season.  It will be our 50th continuous season and our 61st performance since we began in 1963.

We originated through the combined efforts of five Beaumont church choir directors.  Our mission is to rehearse and present an annual free concert of classical choral music to the people of Southeast Texas.  Over the years, our membership has grown to include singers from over 40 churches and synagogues.  We are self-funded and depend on donations from our membership and supporters, as well as grants from several public foundations and trusts.

The concert this year will be on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Julie Rogers Theatre.  Our conductor will be Dr. Randy Babin, Emeritus Professor of Music from Lamar University.  In addition to our own membership, we will be joined this year by the A Capella Choir from Lamar, as well as a large orchestra.  The program will be Ein Deutches Requiem (A German Requiem) by Johannes Brahms.

We are assembling a 50th anniversary commemorative program for the concert, to include our history and experience, as well as information about our presentation for this year.  Please consider supporting our efforts by placing an entry into our program.
