Wynnelle Guidry

Wynnelle Guidry’s career as a vocal performer and music educator spans more than 40 years. As a Choral Music Teacher/ Instructor she served public school children at all levels, grades one through twelve, as well as adults at the University level. She has also served two local churches in part time positions, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Port Arthur and First United Methodist Church Nederland as Director of Music.
Mrs. Guidry has performed as a guest soloist for many major choral works. Her experiences in vocal performance have included principal and support roles with various performing arts groups and organizations including the Beaumont Civic Opera. Though retired, she continues to serve as choral clinician and adjudicator for the TMEA and UIL music competitions held in the Region X and Houston area.
Mrs. Guidry is a native of Beaumont where she graduated from South Park High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar State College of Technology with certifications in Performance and Music Education. While at Lamar she was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Concert Choir for 2 years under the tutelage of Dr. Ray Moore. She pursued post-graduate studies in music at Texas A&I University while her husband was assigned to the Naval Air Training Command at Kingsville. While at Texas A&I she taught full time as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Music. Mrs. Guidry holds a Masters of Education Degree from Lamar University.
